Have you ever been to a new place and don't want to eat at a hotel because you're craving for the taste of the local/home-made foods prepared around that place? Well, JIRANIS food is here to help fulfill that desire for you. As they say, "you don't really know other cultures until you've had a taste of their food."
Jiranis food is an online community marketplace for people to list, discover and book local cuisines experiences around Africa.
After Mr Muchemi visit to Tanzania for a work project, he and his friends needed to have a local cuisine experience but not in a hotel, they wanted something local/home-made. They decided to hire a local woman who would make them local cuisine. During their interaction she taught them about their culture and way of life. And so, it hit him, "what if people out here also desire local/ home-made cuisine when they visit new places?"
The hosts of jiranis food are mostly local restaurants, families, and even individuals who have an interest in cooking and would like to post them for booking. These hosts are able to share their local cuisine experience after they have signed themselves up so that they can be contacted by anyone who wants a particular cuisine.

Jiranis food is also a way of empowering people in various communities by helping them have a source of income through their cooking skills.
